Home Entertainment in the Hotel
With Philips’ new X-Cite series, guests can now have the same DIRECTV entertainment viewing experience they are accustomed to at home. With DIRECTV, P&F is the first hotel television provider to offer the DIRECTVResidential Experience (DRE) as an integrated solution for hotels. Since the DRE solution includes the same program guide and channels they are already familiar with, guests will now be able to easily find what they want to watch and have unprecedented access to more than 100 high-definition channels. This new line of televisions will begin entertaining guests in hotels nationwide beginning this summer.
“The relationship with DIRECTV further simplifies how hotels offer high-definition and the residential experience by eliminating the need of a separate set-top box, by incorporating all components conveniently into the set,” said Todd Richardson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for P&F, exclusive licensee for Philips Hospitality in North America. “Philips Hospitality is about sense and simplicity, making entertainment an intuitive, turnkey experience not only for the hotel guest but also for the hotelier.”

The new Philips Touch Series offers products specifically developed for the retail, quick service restaurant, hospitality, healthcare and transportation industries. Available in 32, 42, 46, 55 and 65 inches, these sets deliver 24/7 commercial-grade reliability.
The new Philips Touch Series comes in two different touch technologies, optical sensing dual-touch and infrared sensing multi-touch. The optical sensing dual-touch system allows for two simultaneous touch points at the same time. This technology is ideal for digital signage implementations in point-of-sale, restaurant, and kiosks. The Infrared Sensing Multi-Touch technology allows for multiple simultaneous touch points at the same time. This technology is ideal for large screen digital signage implementations in the boardroom, retail environments, and public information kiosks. For larger digital signage implementations, users have the ability to scale their touch needs through multiple video wall touch systems. The new Philips Touch Series is capable of 92 inches and larger video wall/table touch configurations.
Signage Displays with Integrated OPS
The new Philips OPS (Open Pluggable Specification) enabled displays consist of nine different products developed for the digital signage industry. Available in 42, 46, and 55 inches, each model comes in non-touch, dual-touch, and multi-touch builds to meet a variety digital signage solutions. By adding an OPS PC, users can deploy systems faster and in higher volumes, while lowering costs for implementation. The OPS PC modules themselves require no optional connections, simply insert the module and begin using the functions. Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) is an industry standard interface developed by Intel that allows users to insert an internal PC into a Philips digital signage display.
